More and more people have visual problems. Children get myopia, adults suffer from dry eyes, and old people may have glaucoma and cataract. Most of the cases have certain relation with the change of people’s life style and the intense using of eyes.
When we mention the protection of eye vision, most of us will first of all think up the health care of eyes. However, according what experts say, apart from eye health care, the well balanced diet is an influential factor.
Too sweet food may harm the eyes. As we all know, children are mostly fond of desserts. But beyond our thought, if we have sweet food in a long run, the eyes may get bad influence. It is showed by modern medicine science, people who have excessive amount of desserts for a long period are easy to suffer from eye diseases, among which myopia is the most common one. Generally speaking, the body needs a large quantity of vitamin B1 to consume sugar content. If we take in too much sugar, vitamin B1 will be out of supply. In addition to that, extra sugar content will also reduce the calcium. All in all, these may cause and worsen myopia.
Furthermore, if we eat too finery food, our diet will lack in chromium; and if we eat too much soft food, the facial muscles could not get enough exercises. These may result in eye problems some day.
Different eye diseases could get better by eating. For not only myopia but also other eye diseases caused by diabetes, it is important to control blood sugar through diet. Experts have offered some tips to various eye diseases by matching healthy food to get better cure.
Myopia: Hard food and coarse food grain (e.g. maize.sorghum.millet.etc. as distinct from wheat and rice) are good for myopia, so we should have more often. We also need to eat fishes, grains, citrus fruit, and red fruit often, which have great effect to the prevention from worsening the eye vision. At the same time, we should eat less sweet food in order to avoid the deepening of myopia.
Dry eyes: Owing to working at the desk or watching the computer screen for too long time, we use our eyes too much. Some of us may feel the eyes are very dry. If so, we need to have more different kinds of fruit, especially the citrus fruit, and we should form a habit of being fond of eating green vegetable, fish and eggs.
Farsightedness: It is suitable to have a bit more garlic, onion, milky product (low-fat milk), dry fruit, animal’s liver, and fine rice. We should eat less food with high fat.
Glaucoma: If we suffer from this eye disease, the eye pressure may be very high, so we should have less greasy food. If possible, drink less tea, coffee and wine, and try to give up smoking.
