The Television in the Bus

image Since I returned home, I found that the need of taking a bus did not happen on me often, because I usually preferred to ride a bicycle. But yesterday, when I had to take a bus in order to go to the distant school to see my former teacher, a new thing came into my view, that is, the buses in this city have already been equipped with televisions during the intervals I left home.

In former times, I could just hear some music played in the bus, but now, there is moving images for people to relax themselves. So when I returned home, I told to my mother about this new thing I had discovered. I looked on this as a new development in our city, but my mother didn’t quite think so. She was a doctor.

She explained to me that we should not watch the television in the bus, because it is really unhealthy for the eyes. She said that when we see a still thing for a long time, we may not feel uncomfortable, because we just need to use the eyes at a stable level, so the muscle of the eyes does not have to stand high pressure. But when we watch the television equipped in the bus, the bus, the television and the eyes are all shaking all the time, so the muscle in the eyes must stand high level of pressure in order to see the images clearly.

When I heard about this, I was really surprised. The thing I had always thought as a relaxation was actually a most unhealthy activity for the people. This coincides with many things I have come across with in the universities. I concluded that not all the modern things are healthy; instead, we are living in the atmosphere where all things are not certain for people’s health.

And now, I am listening to a song concerned with the environment today. Many things come into my mind instantly; I think I should begin to brood over my lifestyle in the university, which my mother has long thought as unhealthy enough to do harm to my stomach, eyes, etc.
