Harrisburg, Pa. – Very few stores have it, and it’s very expensive, but 3D TV is pretty amazing.
Nash Skiles of Lancaster was anxious to see it. "Right there. She’s coming right at me," he laughed while watching the movie "Monsters vs. Aliens" on a Samsung 3D TV at Best Buy near Harrisburg.
"I can’t believe how fast technology is moving on this," he said. "That’s insane. It’s going to be in my living room before I know it. I may wait on the price to come down a little bit."
Right now, you’ll spend more than $4,000 on the TV and all the accessories you need.
When you look at the 3D TV picture with the naked eye, it’s a little fuzzy. But when you put on the 3D glasses, it’s very sharp and the depth of field is impressive.
"I was really skeptical about it, so I think it looks better than I initially thought it would," said Andrew Wagner of Lebanon as he tried out the 3D glasses and TV.
When the programming source is not 3D, the picture is a High Definition LED TV. The Samsung 3D eyeglasses are battery powered.
"I think it looks just as good as 3D in a movie theater," Wagner said.
The number of 3D movies available is limited, but that will change quickly. The Final Four of the NCAA Basketball Tournament and the Masters Golf Tournament will be broadcast in 3D on Comcast.
